Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

This Privacy Notice explains how Dadus Foods Private Limited, which owns and operates Dadus Sweet Emporio, Pune (“Dadus”, “we”, “us”), collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit dadussweet.com, place an order, submit an enquiry form, or visit our outlets. We act as the Data Fiduciary for this data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, and we follow the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it.

We collect and use your personal data only with your consent or for other lawful purposes allowed by law. We never sell your personal data.

1. Personal data we collect

  • Identity and contact details: name, phone / WhatsApp number, email address, billing and delivery address.
  • Order details: products purchased, gift messages, recipient name, address and phone (for gifting), delivery preferences and order history.
  • Enquiry details: information you share in our wedding, catering and corporate gifting forms, such as event type, dates, venue, city, guest count, company name, quantities, preferences, budget range and any message you write to us.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by our payment gateway partners. We do not store your full card, UPI or bank details.
  • Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited and cookie identifiers, collected automatically when you use our website.

Please do not share sensitive personal data (such as health information) unless it is needed for your order, for example a food allergy. If you share it, we use it only for that purpose.

2. Why we use your personal data

  • To process, pack, deliver and support your orders, and to issue invoices.
  • To respond to your enquiries and to prepare quotations and proposals for weddings, events, catering and corporate gifting.
  • To contact you by phone, WhatsApp, SMS or email about your order or enquiry.
  • To send you offers, festive collections and updates, only if you have separately opted in. You can opt out at any time.
  • To keep our website secure, prevent fraud and misuse, and improve our products and website.
  • To meet legal, tax, accounting and food-safety obligations.

We collect only the data needed for these purposes and use it only for the purpose for which you gave it.

3. Your consent

Where we rely on consent, we ask for it clearly. For example, our enquiry forms include a checkbox that you must tick before submitting, and a separate, optional checkbox for marketing messages. Your consent is free, specific and informed, and you can withdraw it at any time as easily as you gave it, by writing to our Grievance Officer (section 9) or replying “STOP” to our marketing messages. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already done, but we may be unable to complete an order or enquiry that depends on that data.

4. Who we share your data with

We share personal data only as needed to serve you, with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract:

  • Our e-commerce platform (Shopify) and website hosting providers.
  • Payment gateways and banks, to process payments.
  • Courier and logistics partners, to deliver your orders.
  • Email, WhatsApp, cloud storage and productivity tools (such as Google Workspace) that we use to receive and manage enquiries.
  • Analytics and advertising tools (such as Meta and Google), using cookie and device data, subject to your cookie choices.
  • Government or law-enforcement authorities, where required by law.

Some of these providers may store data outside India. Any such transfer will follow the DPDP Act and any restrictions notified by the Government of India.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law (for example tax and accounting records, and the minimum one-year retention of processing logs under the DPDP Rules, 2025). Enquiry details that do not lead to an order are deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period after the enquiry closes, unless you ask us to keep them.

6. How we protect your data

We follow reasonable security practices, in line with the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 and the DPDP Rules, 2025. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls limited to staff who need the data, and secure, reputable service providers. If a personal data breach affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law.

7. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed.
  • Correct, complete or update your personal data.
  • Erase your personal data, unless we must keep it by law.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.
  • Raise a grievance with us, and if you are not satisfied, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

To use any of these rights, contact our Grievance Officer. We may need to verify your identity first.

8. Children

Our website and enquiry forms are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data of anyone under 18 without verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian. If you believe a child has shared data with us, please contact us and we will delete it.
